Every year we award scholarships to music students in our area to attend various music summer camps in Michigan. We hope our assistance helps them reach their goals in the musical profession of their choice. We are happy to be able to continue this program for the youth in our community.

2012 Scholarship Winners
Scholarships for 2012 will be awarded during our concert on May 15, and the winners will join the band to play that concert. We are pleased to award scholarships to the following talented students:
DANIEL SCHINDLER – Is a senior at Bay City Western High School and plays trombone. He studies with Sue Gessford and will use his scholarship for private lessons. After graduation, Daniel plans to attend Brigham Young University in Utah.
ALEXIS SIKES – Is a sophomore at Bay City Western High School. She plays tenor saxophone and is a student of Vickie Bowden. She plans to use her scholarship to attend CMU’s summer band camp.

Our award recipients have already accomplished a great deal in music. We wish our promising composers, professional musicians and music instructors the best and hope all their dreams come true.
