Bay Concert Band performed its Spring Concert on May 15 and concluded the 2011-2012 season with an evening of Concert Band Classics, which featured well-known staples of band repertoire from around the world, including marches and show tunes. Thank you very much for joining us this season!
Music Director Peter Makar has put together four fine programs for next season, and we look forward to playing to a full auditorium at Central High School starting with Music from Across the Pond. It will include Euro Fanfare (Vlak), Slovenia (Bosendorfer), Army of the Nile (Alford), Finlandia (Sibelius/McAlister/Reed), March from the Love of Three Oranges (Prokofiev), and Coronation Scene from Boris Godunov (Moussorsky/Buehlman), to name a few. The What’s Next in Bay City organization is a group of art and music organizations collectively building a stronger network in an effort to get the word out about performances taking place in Bay City.
Often we hear from people who attend our concerts for the first time that we are the “best-kept secret” of Bay City. We feel that way about many of our colleagues. Come and enjoy the performances planned especially for your pleasure. We don’t want to be a “secret.” We want to hear from you and produce the performance you desire.
