The Bay Concert Band Scholarship Program is dedicated to supporting talented and passionate music students in their educational journey. Our mission is to foster the next generation of musicians by providing financial assistance and opportunities for growth and development.
Congratulations to this year’s Scholarship Winners!
Michael Briggs, a talented10th-grade student at Bay City Central, excels in playing the tuba. His musical journey includes composing and arranging music, and participating in prestigious honor bands such as All-Star, UofM, CMU, and MMBOD. Michael has also participated in Solo Ensemble where he has performed well and earned multiple I’s on his pieces. Michael aspires to study music theory, composition, and performance in college, with the goal of becoming a concert composer and conductor.

Averi Bucec, an outstanding 8th grader at Christa McAuliffe Middle School, has a clear passion for music. She has attended band camps to enhance her skills on her primary instrument, the trumpet. Averi has earned a Division I rating at Solo Ensemble and actively participates in her school’s jazz band. She looks forward to continuing her music education and improving her playing, tone, and range.

Brady Delaney, a standout sophomore at John Glenn High School, excels in playing the euphonium, flute, and saxophone. He has participated in both District and State Solo Ensemble, earning Division I ratings. Brady participates in his schools Concert Band, Marching Band and Jazz Band. After High School, Brady plans to continue his involvement in band throughout college and aims to become a band teacher.

Brendan Dine, an exceptional senior at Bay City Central High School, will be attending CMU this fall to pursue a bachelor’s degree in music education and a master’s in flute performance. His musical achievements include participation in the Delta Flute Choir and various honor bands such as All-Star, UofM, CMU, and MMBOD. Brendan has also participated in both District and State Solo Ensemble, where he earned 12 Division I ratings and 2 Division II ratings. While his primary instrument is the flute, Brendan is also proficient in playing the French horn, saxophone, and mallet percussion. Brendan dreams of becoming a band teacher at the high school level to help the future generations find their passion with music.

Adriana Hernandez, an accomplished sophomore at John Glenn High School, is a passionate and talented flutist. She has excelled in Solo Ensemble, earning all Division I ratings. Adriana has attended multiple band camps, including the prestigious International Symphony Band. This opportunity took her on an incredible musical journey to Europe. Adriana’s enthusiasm for music from all cultures fuels her growth and inspires her to reach new heights in her musical career.
